Internship The Areas of Internship Interns assist the regular secretariat activities and thematic programmes of HSA. This will also includes the monitoring of the human security situation and developing analysis. The internship program extended to research, collection and analysis of information on country situations with regard to Human Security Report and Human Security Index Program. Besides this, interns may also be assigned to contribute to other programmes, such as event organizing, participating in campaign development, and networking. The HSA Internship Programme The key aim of HAS’s internship programme is to create learning opportunities for graduate students, at their early career and young professionals who have a demonstrated interested in security, peace, rights and development works. The internship program would provide practical experience in working in the area as it relates to human security. That means interns will have the opportunity to put into practice and deepen their theoretical knowledge of security, rights and development issues through affording the opportunity to develop a more profound understanding of organizational practices and team working.The HSA internship programme provides structured and guided support for meeting identified learning objectives which can be achieved in the context of organisational engagement. Thus interns are selected based on a match between the organisational programme needs and their learning interests. HSA is to supports the internship programme through substantive guidance and involving interns in-house and external training and engagement. This is a direct involvement in the work agendas and activities of HSA. The entire internship programme is voluntary, the intern is usually not remunerated. However, internship those are sponsored by other institution would be welcomed. Period of Internship Qualification for Internship HSA expects the interested interns are university graduates with academic backgrounds in law, social science, social work, human rights, political science, international relation, media and literature. Strong research and writing skills is considered as extra qualifications and would provide advantage in selection. Experience in working in conflict situation, disaster management, working with women, children and vulnerable groups would be encouraged. How to Apply for Internship HSA accepts application for internship round the year. However, four times in a year the selection process takes place, those are in January, April, July and November. HSA would screen each application carefully but due to limited resources only short listed candidates will be invited to undergo a recruitment process. Applicants should also be aware that the internship opportunities at a time are limited and they need to apply well in advance of their intended. Applicants will be interviewed over the phone or SKYPE, or, when possible, in person. The selection process takes approximately 2 weeks following the deadline.
